No sirree.
7.23 Transcript
Reina: Wait, Kiro! One more thing.
Reina: You wouldn’t happen to…
Kiro: Know where A is?
Kiro: No sirree. Sorry. Not a peep.
Kiro: Absolutely not a trace.
Reina: That’s not what I meant to ask.
Reina: I wanted to know if you’d seen Mom.
Kiro: Her? Why?
Reina: She’s been missing since the gas incident.
Sometime the captain is the first to leave the ship
Perhaps Mom had a secret escape plan–that would be in character.
I don’t think she just left. She clearly knew about some parts of the curse, or else she wouldn’t have tried to get the book from A. I guess she has some sort of plan relating to the curse, but what exactly is a mystery to me.
She’s such a bad liar that she even starts before she needs to!
And either Reina fell for it or flat out ignored her because Mom vanishing is more important. Probably the second one.
And speaking of that… is Mom actually in on all this??
She at least seems to know about the curse: https://detoxcampcomic.com/pages/5-22-subtle/
I’d throw this link in on top:

It could be Mom is just one of those weird feminist types that insists on dying her hair funky colors, or perhaps something more sinister. Personally… I suspect sinister. The exact nature of that sinisterism is opaque though, so it’s possible that this is just a coincidence of the colors aligning between the characters.
To lay down a guess… she’s a physical manifestation of the curse that attempts to thwart attempts to subvert it.
In five years, I may get to see if it’s a good guess.
