7.21 Transcript
Reina: Kiro, I haven’t forgotten that one day I will be able to go home. Even if it often feels hopeless… I’ll finish school and get on with my life.
Kiro: What makes you so sure about that?
Reina: What makes you think we’ve got a life sentence?
[Kiro: If only I had a way to tell you…]
Kiro: How dire exactly is the food situation?
[Kiro: Still good on time.]
Reina: About half the food is no good, but it’ll last until the ship returns. That ship will also bring the new campers for the season.
Kiro: Forget it, Reina. The ship’s not coming back.
Reina: huh?
Oh noooo, I’m all caught up! I found Detox Camp about a month ago and have been reading a few pages each day while I eat. I love your story and can’t wait to see what happens next. 🙂
Reina, I have some bad news for you… The birth parents you are trying to reach do not love you. Please hang up.
Okay, maybe not that… but it definitely seems that way considering how things go and end up around this camp.
I don’t think she’s thinking of returning to her parents, but just to the general society that she was cast out of. Sleeping in a room of an abandoned factory is not a very homely environment for most people, especially those who like the creature comforts of a modern society.
“Blurting it out” is a rather harsh way of “breaking the news” to someone. ><
