Oh, is this us learning that the adoption angle was less successful than originally assumed? Like Kiro ended up in the camp, but she’s some kind of spare heir waiting on the bench because the blood heir is already on the court?
Good guess! He did after all leave under mysterious circumstances and isolated himself.
This would also serve as an additional wrinkle to the plot, which makes things more interesting.
There are no hints that there is another DuBois here. If there is one, who is it?
I believe the curse want a first death to seal the fate of everybody, in this interpretation, kiro killing herself or convincing another to do so would work, but not because of who they are
