from last time – Should’ve had Kiro choose the bat full of nails, thats a blunt weapon no doubt 🙂 on that note though, is there a more standard/casual way of saying “melee weapon”? i was scratching my head over that for a while and still haven’t thought of anything.

Kiro: Ben?!
Kiro: There’s… absolutely no way you are the thing.

Could you just say “machete”? It might make the speech bubble look kinda odd, but “Hey, you’re the one with a machete.” Sounds reasonably natural to me (as natural as anything could be in that situation!).
Yeah, that’s what I figured. But it just got me thinking what the term would be, people will say “ranged weapon” or “explosives” but there seems to be no casual equivalent for knife/sword
Try “striking” or “slashing” weapon.
It’s just that blunt specifically refers to non-edged blades. Striking refers generally to melee (without sounding all D&D), while slashing refers specifically to its ability to cut.
You could also edit this (retroactively at this point) to say “You’re the one without a ranged weapon” or “You’re the one with a blade.”
Short range? Close quarter? Those are kind of a mouthful too. Also I was half right about Ben, what do I win?
I will give you a single tempura shrimp for being half right.
“Hand to hand weapon.” Or you could have just had Daisy say, “You’re the one with the machete.”
And in any event machetes actually *are* on the blunt side of things. They’re certainly not razor sharp.

Cold weapon is the technical term in some contexts.
I think calling it a ‘close combat weapon’ sounds the most natural.
Technically, a ‘melee’ is more like a large brawl with many participants, so the way that word is used in games is a bit strange. The full military term is ‘close quarters combat’, which is usually abbreviated.

I use WordPress with the ComicPress theme. The theme is old though and I think the developer hasn’t updated it for years. So no guarantees how much longer it will be supported. WordPress in general is pretty easy to use, and there’s a few other comic themes to choose from as well. Good luck on website-making!
WordPress seems to be a lot better than Drupal when it comes to surviving version changes.What I’ve heard to be more of a problem is to have conflicts when adding new features to a site. When you go to https://comicpress.org, it says that “A newer, Better Comic Theme Is Coming Soon!”.

With regard to weapon names, “edged weapons” seems to include swords, knives, and axes.
Just say “blade”.
I’ve heard of people having two left hands but Kiro took it literally in the first panel. Also I don’t think she’s *that* clumsy.
Yikes. I’ll fix that. While this was just a silly mistake, there is truly nothing I find more cursed than drawing hands correctly 🙁

Also have heard people call Hand-to-Hand weapons, “Personal” combat weapons.
