8.36 Transcript
Darien: As we know, Archie has been stealing food from camp, for who knows how long. He must have faked his death and conspired with Daisy to survive. Once we caught on, he must have poisoned the food to divert our attention.
[Kiro: They’re headed toward my boat!]
[Reina: Now hold it right there. There’s not a scrap of evidence here. He could totally be lying. Expect me to defend Archie, who’s accused of being the villain.]
[Kiro: Sometimes, Reina, you’ve got to make sacrifices for your people.]
Ah, politics.
Darien is almost certainly expecting Reina to defend A, but she just might be ready to throw A out to pasture so she can win. Maybe this is the side of her that A thinks is manipulative, but who can say? As far as she’s concerned, Kiro is probably more important to her now, anyway.
Honestly I have to disagree that Reina’s response will be for Kiro. Because of her lessons sure, but not for Kiro alone. One of the major pieces is that A isn’t part of Reina’s people now. He and Daisy are seen as outsiders.
And Reina apparently did take to heart the lesson of sacrifices for her people. And A and Daisy to her mind AREN’T. And Darien has to go.
The fact that it is a bit backstabbing is the one reason this is likely to blow up in everyone’s faces at some point. Because Reina proves she is one of the few people on the island that uses their damn brain by noticing the lack of evidence.
Don’t forget, she’s shown some attraction to Kiro. I’m not saying that’s going anywhere, but I am saying that can influence her decisions, right or wrong. ; ]
Who would have through Kiro’s flippant remark to get her into the computer room would have stuck with her.
