8.25 Transcript
Reina: Despite their conflict… No, because of it… I was able to convince my parents to leave me at a “summer camp”.
Reina: My 18th birthday was that summer. When I came back, I’d be able to live on my own.
Reina: But then, my boyfriend vanished into the wilderness… I discovered we can’t leave unless we stay off the internet for a year… I’m an idiot and I absolutely deserve to be here!
Kiro: So you think being elected president will somehow fix all that?
Reina: No, but… Even if it’s all pointless in the end, I want to try being in charge of my own fate.
I can’t help but think Reina is leaving out some important parts in the middle there, but I’m sure we’ll learn those later.
Maybe his dislike of her has to do with her coming to camp to follow him.
I wish I had the willpower to even want that. You may done something stupid, Reina, but you’re clearly growing and learning. You do not have real stupidity, where one doesn’t learn and is doomed to repeat the stupid acts.
Wow. Reina’s been given an even more raw deal than I could have imagined. And considering A’s own family problems, it makes me wonder if that was something they initially bonded over. I can see why losing that connection would still sting and why she feels the need to prove to herself that she doesn’t need him.
Reina needs hugs
Preferably from Kiro
If she’s there willingly instead if being sentenced to it by a court, they can’t legally stop her from leaving – especially if she is a legal adult. Depending on where the camp is, doing that would be anywhere from 10-20 years in prison (Canada) to 20-life in prison (USA).
Read the non-fine print too.
