[6.40] Wing Man
“Daisy and you,” obviously. It’s amazing how often people forget to consider the person they’re talking to… but that’s probably not what he meant to say, either.
and this is why he had that whole stock trading setup going.

6.40 Transcript
A: This camp is home to a very specific type of internet addicts. particularly, gaming addicts. Daisy and uh… yeah, Daisy being the exception.
A: Think about it. All these kids, stuck out here with nothing better to do. They’re all part of Mom’s business of gold farming and selling high-leveled player accounts…
I’m a gaming expert in a way. I used to make good money trading between virtual gold and real dollars. Which isn’t exactly legal. Then I got a message from someone called the Wing Man.
Kiro: Did you say the Wing Man
A: He helped me grow my business, then I got caught. Next thing I know, I got sent here.
Dun dun duun~! And I thought HE was the Wing Man!
Hmm. If A isn’t Wing Man, is Wing Man perhaps working with Mom?
Wing Man? What is next? Pi Lot? Navi Gator?
Now I want to see a Navi Gator. “Hey! Listen!” “Watch out!”
So Kiro knows The Wing Man
She only knows him by name: https://detoxcampcomic.com/pages/2-5-basic-misunderstanding-of-how-to-deal-with-lifes-problems/ It was the person who gave her the computer virus she used in her smartphone scam.
Let me guess — Wing Man is from Buffalo, right? Thought so.
The pieces are beginning to come together….
Hmmm… Wouldn’t the kids notice if Mom sold their accounts? And it still doesn’t explain why A and Kiro were sent to camp, they’re not gamers. Shouldn’t Mom want them in jail far away, where they won’t raise suspicion?
Congrats on getting to a million page views!
Lina, the kids are in on it.
They don’t get to leave unless they manage to stay away from the games long enough. As long as they keep playing, they create value for Mom. As soon as they get bored of it, they are “cured” and sent home.
A knows how to sell the gold and accounts the kids create, which is where Mom makes money from the kids’ labour.
Like A, Kiro was working for the Wing Man, but selling stolen phones rather than virtual goods.
The real question is: What is Daisy doing there?
just found this and have caught up… great comic and story… thanks!
But Kiro’s phone-stealing skills don’t exactly help at camp, where there’s no phones.
Wing man- hey, we know a character with wings, don’t we?
Yeah, but it’s hard for me to imagine a land spirit writing a computer virus.
@togamid It’s an amusing mental image, at least
