Kiro, this was your idea to begin with.

I have been trying to rectify my numerous boat-drawing errors, but as the entirety of chapter 6 have already been drawn (I maintain a considerable buffer) I’ve been only able to make some minor fixes without having to redo the entire frame. Future boat scenes shall be based on real physics

6.32 transcript
Kiro: Let’s never do that again
Daisy: C’mon, that was really fun, wasn’t it?
Daisy: But yeah, let’s never do that again. That crowd of bears gives me the creeps , though. There should be plenty of food to go around this time of year.
Daisy: Let’s hurry back. Storm’s coming.
The boat in panel 1 is much better. There’s no block and tackle, but that just means Daisy has to be stronger to hold the sail.
10/10, functional boat
I wonder if the storm is another sign of the curse working.
Well, it does rain a lot in this part of Alaska in summer. But perhaps this is not a normal storm…
Once the wind hits the water, physics become sort of optional…
especially when there’s magic involved 😉
I didn’t even notice the boat is none functional! Just keep doing what ur doing. I’m sure It’ll turn out good like always!
One hand on the tiller and one hand on the rope to the boom. Good. However, I would think that the rudder would be large enough to see in the long shot in the third frame. When you redo images, remember to decide whether the back of the boat is flat or pointed, you’ve drawn it both ways.
…Which part of getting doused with cold water and almost falling off the boat fun, Daisy? Oh wait! All of it! 😛
Okay, I am piping up again as I am getting caught up on this comic. Done a bunch of sailing, and there is an old saying. “Sailing is hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror.” The sea is mostly flat but it is all one color. It is surprising how fast things like a wave can sneak up on you, and when a wave washes over a boat the boat moves too, so things can go in surprising directions. Physics is not necessarily optional, but really weird stuff can and does happen.
I especially appreciate the three reactions of the characters. “Whee” “Oh God” and passed out sprawled in the bottom of the boat. That is very real and I’ve been each of those three people in different sailing incidents.
I really like your artwork for the approaching storm in the final panel! you really capture the effect of the curtain of rain illuminated by the low sun passing under the cloud.
I have never commented in one of these threads before, but I was so impressed I just had to join in.
