5.14 Transcript
Daisy: Get over here and help me move this.
Kiro: Just gimme a second to take this all in…
Daisy: Oh, that? It was supposed to be the first summer ski resort in the country. But plans didn’t work out. … This is where I really live.
Kiro: No, up there…
“Up there” not pictured for your convenience, or rather dramatic reveal in 3, 2, 1.
Just took another look at this chapter’s cover page after this revelation and WOW there are details I never noticed there before—old ski runs cut into the tree slope, a faint outline of the lodge buildings at the base! Nice work.
Wonder why Sky Knife peak is such a dramatically different shape compared to all the normal glacial mountains beside it…
Mount Thor in Baffin Island, Canada was the main visual inspiration for that.
How would someone ski in the summer… fake snow or something? Well there is that big mountain, but some of the smaller slopes…
Ever heard of a glacier? It’s not entirely without difficulties and limitations I guess, but there are some ski resorts that have glacier skiing in summer. I haven’t tried it myself but I hope to do so at some point, there is at least one over in Norway that is at least a little open most summers. I think Canada and Alaska have more opportunities for this than we have here in Scandinavia.
Can’t wait until Monday
Well, it DID fail….
There are an unbelievable nomber of people who are willing to throw money at a bad idea. ^^
Sometimes for years despite continual failure to create a working business model…
(I’m looking at you Uber)
this really be an Alaska moment
That smile that Daisy has every now and then… melts my heart for some reason. <3
