Patience could help when scrounging for food ~

Kiro: I’ll boil some soup after confirming that there are no nearby supermarkets.
And the lesson here is edible and delicious aren’t always synonymous. Still, they say hunger is the best spice and that same leaf might seem phenomenal under the right conditions.
Absolutely right! Just about everything tastes great when hungry.

Food comes in three categories:
1. Nourishment
2. Sustenance
3. Edible
Considering that sour and bitter are different… pretty sure that’s the wrong plant. Unless the sea salt messed with it somehow enough to make it sour…
If she’s got a boat, I suppose she can go fishing at least.
