9.46 transcript
Kiro: She wants “the box”.
Reina: !!
Darien: Haha!
a
Reina: To complete Darien’s bargain, you first need to get… THE BOOOX.
Darien: THE BOOOX.
Kiro: The box?
Reina: The- THE BOX!
Kiro: What is the box?
Darien: THE BOX is everything.
Reina: All that once was and all that will be.
Darien: THE BOX controls tiiime and spaaace.
Reina: Looove and deeeath.
Darien: THE BOX can see into your miiind!
Reina: THE BOX can see into your soooul!
Kiro: Really? The- The box can do all that?
Reina: Heh, no.
Whatever’s in that box, Reina is excited to have it back. I hope it was worth trading the keys for.
Also, Darien seems to be into those complicated board games as well. And it looks like some variation of Risk. A metaphor for his political ambitions??
I might just be something of symbolic importance, like the conch shell in The Lord of the Flies. . . .
Sevens of the internet, unite! =D
Now all Darien needs is the location of the wreck and enough fuel for the boat to get there–and back….
The least bloody outcome for the camp is probably Darien hitting the food jackpot and finding Ben along the way. That probably ends with Kiro and Reina kicked out, but at least they scored “the box”. Otherwise, the trip has to go so horribly wrong that the camp gives up on the ship, keeps Kiro in power, and learns to forage.
Open it!
Worried Kiro maybe should’ve checked if what was in the box was worth it…. Reina can be a bit emotionally driven @-@
So, what’s the significance of that last frame? The boat has departed from slip, thus Darien has departed on his excursion? Boat’s gone altogether, thus there will be no excursion? And yeah, what’s in the box?
Oh, you tease. Of course you wouldn’t simply answer the question “What does Reina want” on the very next page. Gahh!
She sure is happy to have it, though. Wonder if it was something that belonged to her in the first place? The curiosity rises…
My interpretation of the last frame was that there was mist coming in… So there are a number of options!
I assume it is your generic time passes frame.
“She asked for the box! I made no promise for its contents.”
