Now Reina’s thinking like a good politician

8.21 Transcript
Reina: There hasn’t been enough to eat for weeks. Tensions are high. I’m – we’re sure to win with this, Kiro.
Kiro: Doesn’t this make you a single-issue candidate, though?
Kiro: There’s a lot more food on the ship, but it’s not infinite. What will you do when it runs out?
Reina: Single-issue or not, this is by far the biggest problem we have. Darien hasn’t come up with a single good idea.
Reina: So what are you getting at here?
Kiro: Teach them to hunt. Free the kids from depending on those supplies.
Reina: That sounds like what Daisy used to say…
And how would ‘Mom’ react to that? What’s her real purpose in the camp?
As Quark told Odo in ST:DS9 “Emergency Rations”.
Break their dependence, teach them to stand up; campers unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains!
Oh uh *clears throat* sorry, got a little caught up in the moment.
It’s a good idea no matter who else espouses it, although fishing would probably be easier to learn….
Who feels that Darien or certain others shouldn’t be trusted with firearms?
YES! Teach them to hunt. Teach them to fish. Teach them to farm.
Internet addicts are probably not the most fit bunch to learn how to hunt and preserve food, let alone these kids whose addiction is being exploited on purpose. It’s probably a good idea, but they’ll have a heck of a time framing it in a way that will make their “voters” agree.
Isn’t there a reason why what hunters hunt is called “game”. Hunting and fishing might be tge games they play made real.
