[Kiro: I wish I’d paid more attention in physics…]
Kiro: Urgh!
Daisy: It’s time…
Kiro: Hey, there’s a genius in the middle of a science problem here…
Daisy: Look, this is how pulleys work. Anyways, we’ll worry about that later. The food’s not going anywhere.
Daisy: You promised you’d pull your own weight.
Daisy: After you change we’ll go down to the river.
Kiro: I don’t want to wear shorts…
I wouldn’t want to wear shorts there either. It is probably quite cold and getting anywhere through a forest/wilderness in shorts is just awful. You’d want to wear jeans or at least long trousers for as long as you can. And I really don’t know how Daisy manages to not get stuck on branches all the time.
That boulder is likely a few pounds heavier than Kiro… pretty likely. <_<
But sure, she can "pull her own weight". Hey, maybe it's pumice, right? It just looks heavy but it's 80% air! Joking aside, Kiro is likely over thinking it a little bit but it's cute to see her trying so hard. Just one big lever, Kiro!
I’m rooting for Kiro, a block and tackle is a sound idea: a three fold purchase can pull up a 1-ton stone with less than 200 kilograms of force, and even less if you just want to roll it over and make it a Rolling Stone!
My main concern would be how to get a good atatchment point and a rope than can lift enough force and is long enough. Actually building the pulley is not that hard if you have a few weeks time.
It is just a question of getting used to it. My kids play in coniferous forest in short skirts, barefoot, by their own volition.
Stand in the ice water and do your best Kiro, ^^
